Photoplay Films is looking for a marketing and social media coordinator to join its Sydney team.

With experience in marketing strategies, social media and PR (relevant to the television commercial production and digital content landscape) and a creative flair for writing and promoting content online, you’ll be responsible for developing and rolling out innovative plans with the broader Producing team. You will assist with daily management of our social channels, optimisation, community & industry engagement, communicating with creative agencies and planning marketing events.   

 

We’re on the lookout for a creative and self-motivated strategic thinker with excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload in a fast-paced, fun and dynamic film and television environment.

 

This role will require significant collaboration with the wider production team. You will also be required to collaborate with external advertising marketing platforms and creative agencies.

 

What we are looking for:

 

2-3 years’ experience in creative and integrated marketing strategies.

 

Experience in managing video, website and social media channels and campaigns including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Vimeo.

 

Experience and interest in video and digital content creation – shooting and editing skills are desirable but not essential.

 

Some knowledge of social and video analytics and SEO marketing strategies.

 

Strong written communication skills and proven abilities in pitching and developing ideas.

 

Degree in marketing, media or communications or a related discipline, or work experience equivalent to a degree.

 

Passion for the film and television industry coupled with high awareness of marketing trends and best practice.

 

Confidence with Adobe Creative Suite, in particular programs like Photoshop and InDesign.

 

Some understanding of community management, participation frameworks, and online copy editing and creative best practices specific to the television commercial production landscape.

 

Strong attention to detail and organizational and communication skills.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

Work with wider Producer team to develop and implement integrated marketing and social media strategies.  

 

Develop, plan, and manage marketing calendars.

 

Write and manage Photoplay’s social media output across several channels, while maintaining and advancing the voice of the brand.

 

Work efficiently and professionally with creative agencies and assist Producer team to organise regular agency facing meetings.  

 

Attend WIP meetings and actively provide marketing insights, strategic thinking and insights.

 

Real-time content and community management and moderation. Engaging with social audiences to drive positive outcomes and provide support.

 

Use analytics and social media monitoring tools for insights, content and to guide future activity.

 

Keeping up to date with Advertising Festival deadlines, identifying key work to enter and managing submissions.

 

Building relationships with key personnel at digital magazines such as Shots, Little Black Book, Campaign Brief and The Stable, managing subscriptions and maximising editorial opportunities. 

 

Staying ahead of the latest developments in social media tools, trends, platforms and techniques and be proactive in providing actionable insight to the internal team.

 

Writing editorial and distribution of quarterly newsletter.

 

Organise marketing events – parties and gifts for agencies.

 

Manage internal CRM Daylite platform.
